W Macau — Studio City will be the latest addition to the long list of luxury hotels present in the city. It will open to the public on September 8.

Located on Macau’s Cotai strip, W Macau – Studio City draws inspiration from the golden age of cinema, especially Hollywood movies shot in Macau in the 1950s.

The luxurious property will offer a contemporary, cutting-edge and immersive experience of the city, highlighting the contrast between old and new as well as Chinese and Portuguese influences on its heritage. According to a press release, Adrian Chan, General Manager, W Macau –Studio City, says, “When we think of Macau, colossal entertainment venues, vast shopping precincts, and sprawling urban resorts are top of mind. Our hotel offers guests a new kind of luxury that revels in bold ideas and indulges in the unexpected. ”

He adds, “Its contemporary design elevates the guest experience through signature features, iconic Whatever/Whenever™ service, and dynamic programming to give them a fresh perspective of the city’s fascinating cultural legacy; a more contemporary way to stay.”

The property has been designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and features 557 rooms and suites, all based around the theme of Hollywood’s golden age. It has four distinct food and beverage concepts celebrating the best of Macau.

LIVING ROOM, the main bar, is a blend of cinematic elements from the era with the city’s nautical heritage. A.P.D. (A Perfect Dose) is a speakeasy that is an extension of the bar, and provides an exclusive space for intimate gatherings. Hawker Hawker is a vibrant, playful three-meal-period restaurant inspired by local markets. DIVA offers Cantonese cuisine, while Blind Tiger serves refreshing cocktails with stunning views.

Additionally, the W Macau – Studio has an in-house spa and gym for guests to relax and unwind, and a dedicated meeting and event space called ACADEMY for business-related requirements. The property also has its own recording studio called W Sound Suite that was unveiled on August 19 by Chinese singer, rapper and songwriter Lexie Liu and Chau Yan Ting, a Hong Kong-born Singaporean singer, through a video trailer.
